One month ago we put the raspberry pi into Max's head, to make it easier to add the camera. The software and setup is the same as Robbie's, We added a xbox kinect camera to Max's body for navigation. We found a small problem with Max's wheel encoders. Every now and then the values will spike,moving Max about 3000 meters off the map then Max gets lost. I think this is a problem for dad to fix. But we can still drive him around with a phone and talk to him.

Max new head
Over the last couple of months my dad and I been working on a new head for Max. The new head has eyebrows, two eyes, a mouth and two ears. His eyes have a blue light that will turn on when Max is online. Max can be happy, sad, angry, frustrated, bord, depressed, exited and neutral. Tonight we got the program working now we just have to the face to match the mood,

Max's servo break out board
Today I soldered a break out board for Max, so we can connect the servos to Max's micro controller. It was really fun to learn how to solder, my dad said he will show me how to join wires.

Max with wheels
Max with wheels
I've added some wheels to max so that he can drive around the house.He has one wheel at the back and two wheels at the front,he can not drive in a strait line because one wheel has a bad motor.You can control max with a x box controller or a phone.He can talk to you when you are bored or sad,you can command him to go forwards,backward,left and right.
We are working on the next version of max which use the AI system from Robbie the robot and ROS to control the motor and arms.

Max the robot
My name is Matt and I'm ten year's old.I have a robot called Max, that my dad is helping me with. Max only has a head and a body and he can't move around yet because he doesn't have any motors and batteries
